Acrylic Paintings

Opposite to the glossy, semi transparent water colours the acrylic colours are used in covering layers. Acrylics are synthetic materials, which are often used as dispersions, but for paintings mostly used as a colour paste.

Introduced in the 1940s, they are gaining popularity ever since. Due to their special features they allow almost unlimited design options. They are very flexible and so you can work with thick layers without fissures. This  allows the design of highly textured surfaces with the paste, on the other hand you can do filigree shifts with diluted colours.

Acrylic colours are uncomplicated in terms of the painting´s surface;  I prefer using them on canvas. Brush, spatula and a lot of other equipment is used, depending on my inspiration…
